Warsaw Hussars Visits Surrey to Play Cage Cricket
As the cricketers from Sri Lanka and Pakistan took centre stage around the country over the past few weeks, taking on their English hosts, in Surrey, Cage Cricket welcomed the Warsaw Hussars from Poland. Although the Hussars have visited Surrey previously, this would be the first occasion on which they had the opportunity to play Cage Cricket.
Cage Cricket Officially Launches in Surrey
Against a backdrop more used to seeing the finest horses from all over the world perform, Cage Cricket landed firmly and squarely in Epsom as Surrey became the latest community to have a dedicated Cage Cricket team, following the likes of Hampshire, Oban and London in providing new opportunities for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to experience cricket.
Pompey in the Community Adds Cage Cricket to It’s Line-Up
Portsmouth Football Club’s community arm, Pompey in the Community (PITC), now has a Cage Cricket kit to use, thanks to a donation from Dr David Allen, a well-known Portsmouth resident and former University lecturer.

The launch of the “Not Out” programme by Dementia Friendly Hampshire and Bournemouth University’s Dementia Institute will research the impact of sport on dementia. The research will focusing on both those diagnosed and their families, while giving people the opportunity to play Cage Cricket.
West Itchen Community Trust In Southampton Gets Cage Cricket Kit
A new Cage Cricket kit, funded by Southampton City Council’s Community Chest Grant’s Scheme, has now gone into St Mary’s – one of the most diverse and deprived communities in Southampton. The kit will be maintained by West Itchen Community Trust (WICT), based in Derby Road.
Cage Cricket Shortlisted for #BeAGameChanger Awards
Cage Cricket has been shortlisted for a major national award: The Women’s Sport Trust #BeAGameChanger Awards, which recognises individuals and organisations doing the most to progress women’s sport. In particular, the award acknowledges the work by Sheromie Brewster in London and Barbados.

England vs New Zealand ODI Sees 500 People Experience Cage Cricket
On Sunday, 14th June 2015, the Cage team provided the opportunity for over 500 people to experience Cage Cricket in the Ageas Bowl’s permanent cage during the England vs New Zealand One Day International.
